Equilateral sails are 3-sided shade canopies that are attached to columns or wall brackets. They can be configured by using a single sail or designed to incorporate numerous sail shades using multiple columns and connection points. By using differing attachment elevations between numerous sails, you can create beautiful architectural design elements that will enhance the space.

Shade Wind Strength: With the fabric on, our standard shade structures are engineered and designed to withstand 75 mph sustained winds and 90 mph winds for 3-second gusts. With the shade fabric removed, our shade’s frame can withstand winds up to 150 mph. Our structures can be engineered to meet higher wind loads upon request.

The Sun Shade Company's Sun Shade Color Options are plentiful and our shade fabric blocks up to 99% of harmful UV rays. Our UV stabilized fabric is created from high-density polyethylene and Raschel knitted to resist fading, abrading, rotting, shrinkage, and unraveling. We also have a unique thread that allows the fabric to "breathe" allowing the hot air to rise and escape. This selection of fabric colors is fire retardant and passes the NFPA 701 and ASTM E84 tests. Most of our traditional shade fabric color offering is California Fire Marshal certified, which is the highest standard for flame resistance. When ordering, please inquire about your color selection being certified and the associated lead time.

Our Superdurable powder coat is one of the best in the industry. Our frames are coated with an Epoxy TGIC Powder Coating Zinc-Rich Primer. After the primer application, we apply Superdurable Polyester TGIC powder coating.
